Remick Country Doctor Museum & Farm

Our mission is to educate a broad and diverse public to the values and significance of the medical practice and agricultural way of life of the country doctor, and to preserve and interpret the Remick property and collections for the benefit of the public.

Collections:
Remick Museum operates a working farm with livestock, including cows, oxen, sheep, chickens, goats, pigs, and a horse. Remick Museum's collections include the personal property and furnishings of Dr. Edwin Crafts Remick and his family. Changing exhibits feature tools and items assocaited with agricultrual way of life in New Hampshire from 1779 to the present.

Programs:
Remick Museum offers educational programs for school and civic groups in hearthside cooking, historic toys, woodworking, timber framing, soap making, candle making, and maple sugaring, among other topics. Hearthside Dinners are offered monthly, where most all ingredients are raised on the farm and prepared on the open hearth. Monthly workshops are offered to adults in sausage making, cheese making, jams and conserve, and bread making,for example. Special events are free and open to the public and include Winter Carnival & Ice Harvesting, Maple Sugaring, Traditional Tea, Ox & Rocks, Captain Enoch Remick Open House, Harvest Festival, Historic Thanksgiving and Victorian Christmas.

Accessiblility:
The farm & Visitor's Center is fully accessible to those with physical disabilities; the second floor of the farm house and the Capt. Enoch Remick House is not.

Additional Info:
The Joe Binsack Trail (6/10 mile) is located on the Remick property. It is a low impact hike for adults and children featuring kiosks with educational information and activities for visitors to enjoy. It offers beautiful views of Mount Chocorua, the Ossipee Mountains, and Remick Farm. Visitors can sign out the Discovery Backpacks on Trees, Water, Soil, and Livestock for independent exploration on the Remick property. Enjoy the Swift River Trail while visiting the property.

Admission Details:
The Remick Country Doctor Museum & Farm is open year round. General admission is always free!

Hours:
Hours are Monday- Friday, 10am- 4pm.

Summer hours, from July 4 to Coulmbus Day, are Monday- Saturday 10am- 4pm.

Summer Tour Schedule

Remick Museum offers tours of the farm & farm house daily at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm.

An educational activity takes place daily from 12:30- 1pm.

Tours of the Captain Enoch Remick House, the boyhood of home of Dr. Edwin Crafts Remick, are included upon request with the farm tour, Monday - Thursday 11am, 1pm, and 3pm.
