Kern County Museum

Discover the Kern County Museum, where thousands of historical and cultural artifacts are displayed in more than 56 historic buildings on 16 beautifully landscaped acres. Explore such treasures as the 1882 Norris School, 1899 Woody General Store, 1868 Barnes Log Cabin as well as Native American, mining, agriculture, Bakersfield Sound and railroad exhibits. Changing exhibits, unique special events and the participatory Lori Brock Children's Discovery Center are fun for everyone. New in 2002, Black Gold: The Oil Experience is an interactive treat.
