Description:

Oregon Sea Grant invites applications for a full-time 1.0 FTE, 12-month, Sea Grant Education Program Leader position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Director.

Responsibilities:
This position provides leadership for Oregon Sea Grant's overall informal educational programming.

Provides overall program leadership, development, and management of Oregon Sea Grants (OSG) marine education programs and visitor services at the Hatfield Marine Science Visitor Center in Newport, Oregon. As an integrated element of OSG, this position is responsible for the development and management of the HMSC Visitor Center, bookstore, visitor services, K-12 education leading learning development, public programming, and aquarium support. She/he reports to the Director of the Oregon Sea Grant College and serves on the OSG Leadership Team.

Educational Requirements
M.A. or M.S. in education or a field closely related to the position duties. PhD preferred

Skills:
Minimum three years successful leadership and management of informal science education programs, projects, and facilities housing exhibits.

Evidence of successful grant writing and other resource development.

Demonstrated technical writing skills and publications.

This position is designated as a critical, security-sensitive or safety-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be deemed fit for duty at placement and while serving in the position.

Willingness to travel. This position must possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record while serving in the position; therefore, the incumbent must provide a copy of their driving history for the past 2 years from the issuing state's Dept. of Motor Vehicles.

Demonstrable experiences in supervising staff.

Demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.

Evidence of effective written and oral communication skills including presentations to individuals and groups.
