Development Manager for Special Projects

Salary Range: Up to $50k per year. Commensurate with experience.

 

Description:
The Development Manager for Special Projects organizes and coordinates cultivation and stewardship events for major donors, upper-level members, prospective donors including, but not limited to: International Forum events; travel opportunities with the Director; private dinners and receptions; and other special events associated with museum programs and concerts.

Responsibilities: (include but are not limited to):

• Organizing and executing special programs, including International Forum events. Duties include managing guest lists, mailings, payments, acknowledgments, membership cards, seating, information packets, and other logistical matters.
• Coordinating special programs and events involving Development, the Director's Office, and other departments to strategically use and capitalize on scheduled and budgeted programs.
• Managing The Phillips Collection's travel program (domestic and international) for donors and others by working with the Director of Development, Director of Individual Giving, and Development colleagues.
• Managing renewal, new, and lapsed International Forum member annual process.
• Actively stewarding International Forum members with special mailings, calls, and other forms of outreach.
• Working with the Director of Individual Giving and Development colleagues to identify, cultivate and solicit new prospects for the International Forum.
• Working with the Director of Individual Giving and Development colleagues to coordinate prospect follow up by drafting solicitation letters and ensuring proper entry into Raiser's Edge.
• Drafting materials for major gift donors as needed.
• Coordinating annual Gala with Development staff and consultants, including managing guest list, mailings, payments, acknowledgments, seating, and other event logistics, as needed.
• Managing and stewarding donors of art, including Eliza Laughlin Society (if needed).
• Assisting the Director of Individual Giving and the major gifts team build the Circles and Patrons program. This will include strategizing and coordinating efforts to identify new Patron and Circles prospects for solicitation.
• Keeping abreast of best practices and local and national giving trends as related to major gifts.
• Representing The Phillips Collection in a professional manner with an awareness of the need for diplomacy and confidentiality.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
• Bachelors Degree and three to five years of development experience.
• Raiser's Edge proficiency.
• Excellent communications skills (verbal, written, editorial).
• Strong organizational skills. Attention to detail is vital.
• Professional and mature presentation and work ethic.
• Ability to establish priorities and juggle numerous assignments simultaneously.
• Ability to exercise good judgment, show initiative, and handle sensitive materials in a trustworthy and confidential manner.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word Excel, Powerpoint).
• Interest and knowledge of art desirable.
