The New York Botanical Garden, a National Historic Landmark and one of NYC’s premier cultural institutions, seeks a Vice President for Marketing to join their Marketing department.
Responsibilities:
This is an exciting opportunity for a senior professional with significant and sophisticated marketing experience, with at least 10 years of managerial experience and a track record of conceiving and implementing successful, innovative marketing strategies, plans and programs in a museum or visitor attraction of quality and excellence. The Vice President for Marketing is responsible for institutional marketing including the strategic thinking and planning to greatly expand the Botanical Garden’s audience and outreach, heighten its visibility, increase visitation and to strengthen its constituencies and grow its base of financial support from earned income. The Vice President for Marketing serves as a catalyst and leader for the public relations, marketing and creative services departments. This position reports to the President and works closely with the Chief Operating Officer.

Requirements:
The successful candidate will have at least 10 years of managerial experience, highly developed marketing and leadership skills; broad based knowledge of the full range of marketing techniques and tools, including branding, advertising, direct marketing, strategic planning, and positioning, market research and interactive technologies; proven ability to manage and work with a diverse group of personalities; a successful record as a team player, who is politically astute and able to effectively work across organizational lines; a track record as an effective communicator who is articulate and compelling in writing as well as orally.
