Description:
The Adler Planetarium, Chicago, IL, is seeking a Director of Corporate Relations to plan, coordinate, and implement fund-raising initiatives in the corporate sector. This senior member of the development team will be accountable for securing both restricted and unrestricted support, sponsorships, and staffing corporate engagement programs. This position will report to the Associate Vice President for Development.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Identify, cultivate, solicit, recognize and steward corporate donors as part of the Adler's $40 million Lift-Off! Campaign;
• Staff Board of Trustees Corporate Giving Committee and work with key volunteers on major gift cultivation, solicitation and stewardship;
• Working with the Director of Communications, manage an active corporate sponsorship program for Adler properties and oversee fulfillment of all benefits, including Celestial Ball gala sponsorship;
• Expand a corporate membership program utilizing trustees as key volunteers, fulfill benefits, and plan renewal/upgrade strategies;
• Strengthen the Adler's growing in-kind giving program;
• Prepare and manage annual budgets and monitor quarterly income and expense forecasts.

Experience and Education:

• A Bachelor's Degree; an advanced degree is preferred;
• Five or more years of progressive experience in securing corporate sponsorships and contributions with demonstrated expertise interacting with executive-level volunteers and corporate representatives;
• Knowledge of corporate sponsorship and philanthropy;
• An understanding of corporate prospect research.

This position requires excellent writing skills, analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple projects, demonstrated creativity, the ability to work with a variety of people in multiple departments, and excellent organizational, presentation and team building skills.

The salary for this position is commensurate with education and experience.
