Type: Full Time, Experienced — Internship

Required Degree: Master's

Salary: Commensurate with experience and includes benefits package

Description:
Job Purpose: The scope of this position varies widely, depending upon the needs of the Senior Curator. In general, the Curatorial Assistant assists in researching, documenting, interpreting, and exhibiting works of art at the Foundation.

Timeline: the position is scheduled for 2 years and can be renewed for another year.

Responsibilities:
• Assist in the research of objects and future projects for the Foundation. This will include primary and secondary source research, cataloguing, maintaining document files, writing loan requests, as well as assisting with printed and online publications

• Assisting the artists and guest curators working on installations under the supervision of the Senior Curator. The projects planned are an installation by Ann Hamilton and an exhibition of works by Joseph Beuys.

• Assist with symposia and panel discussions at the Foundation, participate in archiving the material produced on the web

• General assistance for the Senior Curator

Educational Requirements:
Master's degree in art history or related field.

Skills:
Fluency in German preferred. Someone who is highly motivated, organized, and possesses excellent communication skills is desirable. The successful candidate should be willing to work collaboratively and creatively in a team environment.
