Description:
Oversees the development and execution of engaging and educational high-quality experiences for day-to-day visitors to the Science Center. This includes but is not limited to experiences for visiting public, families and school groups; programs for permanent and traveling exhibits, Mather Museum, special programs and events.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for all aspects required for implementation of programs: recruiting, hiring, supervision and training of staff and volunteers; quality control; operational considerations; budgeting and administration. In addition, the Manager of Education and Visitor Experiences is responsible for the overall coordination of volunteer activity at the Great Lakes Science Center. Involved are recruitment, orientation training, and vision so that a cohesive team of volunteers can meet the goals of the institution.
Educational Requirements:
College degree in education or sciences. Previous experience in informal science education supervisory position or equivalent. Valid driver's license for transportation to offsite programs and community events. Experience with volunteer development, recruitment, and/or customer service training within an educational or non-profit setting.
