Vice-Presidentof Exhibitions and Programs.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the President and CEO, you are accountable for the planning, direction, organization, implementation and monitoring of the CMC Exhibitions and Public Programs as well as the direction of the CCM and the CPM. Exhibitions include permanent, temporary and travelling exhibitions. Programs include school programs, festivals, lecture series, animation, theatrical programs, etc. You direct the planning, operations, management, supervision (including the supervision of contractors), evaluation and control of the Branch through directors, managers and other staff. The Exhibitions and Programs branch has a budget of over $6,700,000 and aims at generating revenues of $1,000,000 a year. As one of six executives reporting to the President and CEO, you also sit as a member of the CMCC senior management team to set policy and direction and monitor progress of activities related to the Exhibitions and Programs Branch.
Educational Requirements:
University degree in the social sciences, public administration, humanities, museology or equivalent with relevant experience.
Skills:
• Minimum ten years of related management experience, particularly in the development, planning and execution of complex projects;
• Solid management and organizational skills, including demonstrated skills in operational, financial, human resources and project management;
• Leadership based on respect, ability to merge the efforts and energy of creative and qualified professionals and to create a climate in which they will want to do their best;
• Proven planning skills and experience, conceptual thinking and long-term vision;
• Solid interpersonal and strong communication skills;
• Business insight and initiative in creating strong business relations which will lead to the development of partnerships at the national and international level;
• A team player who leads by example and who relies on collaboration and cooperation;
• The ability to work in a complex, diverse and unionized environment, and to communicate effectively at all levels of an organisation;
• A manager who is quick on his/her feet and demonstrates ingenuity and a sharp intellect;
• Command of the English and French language, both oral and written.
