Description:
The Amon Carter Museum seeks an assistant curator with expertise in 19th – and 20th – century American art to work with the Curator of Paintings and Sculpture to support all departmental activities including exhibitions, installations, and research relating to collection documentation, acquisitions, publications, and loans. Candidates must be able to work in a collaborative environment on multiple projects. The successful candidate will possess an M.A. in American Art (Ph.D. or A.B.D. preferred), a minimum of two years curatorial experience, and knowledge of standard museum practices, including familiarity with the technical aspects of works of art affecting their care, conservation, and presentation; proven research, writing, and public speaking abilities; computer, editing, and proofreading skills required.
