Description:
Henry Art Gallery, at the University of Washington in Seattle, has an opening for Director. Search committee seeks a candidate who provides vision, direction and oversight for the exhibition and acquisition of artwork and care of the collections; represents the Henry internationally, nationally and in the region to build support through donor and sponsor cultivation; develops partnerships with community and arts organizations; leads administrative affairs, fiscal management, fund raising and personnel planning; and acts for the benefit of the Henry in relation with the University of Washington and in turn, represents the University to the Henry staff and the Henry Gallery Association (HGA) Board of Trustees.
Responsibilities:
Candidates must have passion for and working knowledge of contemporary art, with a minimum of 5 years curatorial and administrative staff management experience, a proven ability to manage million dollar budgets, and proven fund raising ability. Preference will be given to candidates with advanced degree, excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong analytic and complex problem-solving capabilities, dynamic drive for results, accountable decision-making, a demonstrated organizational agility a well-developed interpersonal skills.
Educational Requirements:
Requires a Master of Arts in Museology or related field and a minimum of five (5) years curatorial and administrative staff management experience.
Skills:
• Proven ability to manage multi-million dollar budgets.
• Experience and skill in fundraising.
• Passion for and working knowledge of contemporary art.
