Description:
The University of Oregon Arts & Administration Program seeks to fill a full time tenure track assistant or associate professor position to oversee a museum studies area of concentration and a museum studies graduate certificate.
Responsibilities:
Teach graduate courses in the area of museum studies and cultural and arts management. Advise students seeking the Master's degree in Arts Management. Oversee a museum studies area of concentration and a museum studies graduate certificate. Direct Master's theses and projects. Teach undergraduate university arts and letters courses such as: Art & Gender, Art and Visual Literacy, and Art and Human Values. Maintain a line of research; participate in professional organizations; and serve on school and university committees.
Educational Requirements:
Doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) or other terminal degree required preferably in museum studies, arts administration, or a related discipline such as arts education, art history, history, historic preservation, or anthropology.
Skills:
Evidence of scholarly work and exemplary teaching. Knowledge of contemporary challenges and opportunities in the museum profession.
